5 best spots to ring in the New Year in the Triad

The Millennium Center in Winston-Salem

One of the hottest events in the Triad is the annual New Year’s Eve Gala at The Millennium Center in Winston-Salem. The cocktail-attire event includes dancing, cash bar, a confetti cannon, and a Times Square video screen countdown.

Watch night church service

In many different Christian traditions, watch night services are held late on New Year’s Eve. The gatherings provide the opportunity for people to look back over the year that has passed, make confession and prepare for the year ahead. The services often include music, praying, testimonies and scripture reading.

Winston-Salem Symphony

Celebrate the New Year in style with the Winston-Salem Symphony and conductor Robert Moody, along with guest artists from the Neos Dance Theatre as they present an evening of dynamic choreography, upbeat Broadway tunes and classic favorites at the R.J. Reynolds Memorial Auditorium. The event is Maestro Moody’s final New Year’s Eve concert with the symphony and his third performance with Neos Dance Theatre, who performed with him on his very first New Year’s Eve concert in Winston-Salem. The concert is part of the symphony’s Plugged-In Pops series. The symphony will also host two special events around this year’s concert to provide patrons with additional festive ways to celebrate New Year’s with the symphony. There will be an intimate pre-concert New Year’s Eve Dinner at 1703 Restaurant, and following the concert, guests can join the symphony for an after-party complete with a DJ and cash bar at The Barn at Reynolda Village. Tickets can be purchased through the Symphony Box Office.

NYE celebration at The Village Inn in Clemmons

Ring in 2018 to the beat of two live bands, Phase Band and The Plaids, and three DJ’s for what’s sure to be a night to remember at the Village Inn & Event Center. The event will feature 15,000 square feet of party space, hors d’ oeuvres, cash bar, party favors, noise makers, and a countdown and champagne toast at midnight. Hotel packages that include tickets to the party and a hot breakfast buffet are available.

The Barn Dinner Theatre in Greensboro

Gather for a “Rockin’ New Year’s Eve” at The Barn Dinner Theatre in Greensboro on Dec. 31. Guests will have the opportunity to celebrate with a buffet dinner, special New Year’s Eve performance of Groovin’, door prizes through the night, dancing with the live band, Cufflinx, after the show and a champagne toast at midnight. Before heading home, a hot breakfast bar will be served.
